Wide multi-tier wood deck with broad steps leading to a lake house in Atlanta

Decks · Metro Atlanta

Decks built for actual Atlanta summers.

Composite or real wood, brand new or rebuilt — built right, finished tight, designed for the kind of summer nights you actually want to have.

Welcome In

A deck is just a floor outside. Until it isn’t.

Georgia humidity is a deck-killer. So is a builder who uses the wrong fasteners. So is a board layout that ignores how water actually drains.

We build new decks from the ground up — footings, framing, decking, railings, stairs, lighting. We also rebuild and refinish the deck you’ve got, if the bones are still good. Composite or real cedar or pressure-treated southern pine, single level or stepped, with pergolas, built-in benches, hidden storage.

New Deck Builds

From footings to finishing nail.

A new deck starts with footings — and a lot of contractors cut corners here. We don’t. Deep footings poured below the frost line, code-checked spans, framing pulled square and level, joist tape on every top edge to keep water from rotting the wood.

Recent build — square framing, tight board spacing, ready for stain.

Then decking boards go down with hidden fasteners (no ugly screw heads), edges picture-framed for a clean finish, stairs to code, and railings that won’t wobble in year five. A deck built right lasts 20+ years in Atlanta climate. We build them that way.

02

Composite vs. Real Wood

The right wood for this climate.

Composite (Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon) is the smart pick if you want low-maintenance — no staining, no sealing, no splinters in 10 years. Pressure-treated southern pine is the budget hero — solid for 20+ years if you seal it every couple seasons.

Cedar and Ipe are the showstoppers — real wood grain, real smell, real character. They cost more and they need a little love, but they’re hard to beat. We walk you through which makes sense for your house, your budget, and how much weekend time you actually want to spend with a paintbrush.

Deck Refinishing & Rebuilds

If the bones are good, we’ll save them.

Not every old deck needs a tear-down. If the framing is solid, the footings are level, and the joists are dry — we can rebuild just the deck surface. New boards, hidden fasteners, fresh stain or composite swap, code-compliant railings. Half the cost of a full rebuild.

We come look, probe the framing for soft spots, and tell you honestly whether you need a tear-down or just a refresh. No upsell. If we can save you money, we tell you.

04

Pergolas, Shade & Built-Ins

The deck you actually use.

A deck that bakes in 95°F July sun doesn’t get used in July. The most-used decks in Atlanta have some kind of shade. Cedar pergolas, retractable shade sails, motorized louvered roofs, vinyl-clad pavilions — we build them all.

Built-ins are the extra touch that makes a deck feel like a real outdoor room. Bench seats with hidden storage, planter boxes, integrated string-light wiring, GFCI outlets for the smoker and the speakers. Built in, not bolted on.

05

Stairs, Railings & Lighting

The finishing touches that finish the deck.

Stairs that don’t bounce. Railings that don’t wobble. Step lighting that turns on at sunset so you don’t trip on your way to grill. Post-cap lights that look like jewelry. Under-rail strips for ambient evening glow.

We wire low-voltage lighting on a dedicated transformer with a dusk-to-dawn timer. Code-compliant railings (36″ or 42″ depending on deck height), pickets spaced under 4 inches for kids and pets, hidden brackets for clean architectural lines.
